A man who deputies said struck and killed a bicyclist Monday had ingested heroin, deputies said.

Steven Sickle, 33, of Feesburg, Ohio, struck the cyclist in the shoulder of U.S. 52 near Nine Mile Road in Cincinnati just before 6 p.m., deputies said.

The cyclist, William Rust III, 61, of Cincinnati, was thrown from his bike onto Sickle's car and then into the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
