And, right now, northwest Ohio is in the grip of opioid and heroin addiction. It is so bad that, according to a report on Greater Toledo’s problem chronicled in a two-part series by Blade staff writer Lauren Lindstrom, emergency services in Lucas County have made some 3,000 calls to help those suffering drug overdoses between June, 2014, and June, 2016.
