Fighting back against statewide opioid abuse requires increased education and grassroot efforts, Ohio’s attorney general said Thursday.
Attorney General Mike DeWine spoke to about 200 people attending the Dental Opioid Symposium and Education event. The Toledo Dental Society hosted the evening forum at the Inverness Club.
Present addiction levels are “unlike any drug epidemic I’ve ever seen,” Mr. DeWine said. The extent of abuse has not yet bottomed out, but there are signs of progress, he said.
