"I lost my apartment, the county took my car, my girlfriend went to prison, I lost parental rights to my daughter and I pretty much lost everything but the clothes on my back", says McCartan.
He, like countless others, lost everything but his life so far, to heroin addiction. Facing 20-months of prison for robbery to support his habit, he landed in Lucas County Judge Stacy Cook's courtroom for Drug Court.
A new approach to treating the heroin epidemic, and sanctioned by the Ohio Supreme Court. "It's for people that really want to change their life, really want to better themselves and they give you the tools to do that", says McCartan.
