It’s no secret that Ohio is wrestling with a devastating plague of drug addiction and fatal overdoses, but still it was a shock to learn last week that Ohio led the nation in overdose deaths in 2014. The number of deaths has continued to escalate since then. One of every nine heroin deaths in the country happens in Ohio.
In response, The Dispatch surveyed the experts who have been leading the fight to curb the plague and assessed Ohio’s prospects (http://bit.ly/2gV8beA). The upshot: Ohio rapidly has ratcheted up its response to the epidemic, but so far has not blunted it.
