CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -The growing heroin epidemic and increase in overdoses means another chance at life for some.
"There's an ongoing heroin epidemic, not only in Ohio, but across the country. Especially here in Ohio and Northeast Ohio and it's obviously a terrible thing," said Nick VanDemark, Communications Manager at Lifebanc. He says they've noticed a trend with the increase in overdoses.
"A slight positive that comes out of this is that many of those heroin overdose victims do go on to become organ donors and pass on the gift of life when they pass on," VanDemark said.
